The building dates from 1968 and was rebuilt in 2015 and 2016. Most of it works for a guest with limited mobility and some of it does not. This page says which is which so that nobody arrives and finds out.

What we can arrange
- A shower chair, a bed rail, a raised toilet seat or a bed lever, given a day’s notice.
- A vibrating fire alarm and door beacon for a deaf guest, fitted to any room.
- Menus in large print, and a member of staff to read one aloud.
- Assistance dogs anywhere in the hotel, with a bed and a bowl in the room and a relief area by the gardens.
- Luggage carried to the room, and help at the car in the rain, at any hour.
- A quiet table away from the bar, kept for you rather than promised on the night.
What the building cannot do
- The hot tubs on the north terrace are up three steps with no alternative route.
- The Closeburn Suite terraces have a 120 mm threshold at the door.
- Two Brecon Rooms, 105 and 106, have a 780 mm bathroom door, which is narrower than the rest.
- The wine cellar under the restaurant is reached by a stair only.
- Marine Parade itself has a kerb without a crossing for forty metres north of the door; the crossing is to the south.
This website
The site is built to work at 200% zoom, in a screen reader, and by keyboard alone. Headings run in order, every image carries alternative text, form fields have labels tied to them, and colour is never the only way something is marked. Text contrast meets WCAG 2.2 level AA. There is no autoplaying video and nothing that moves without being asked.

Fire and evacuation
Guests who would need help in an evacuation are asked to tell reception at check-in. Their room and requirement go on the fire board at the desk, and the fire warden on shift is briefed. Refuge points are on each landing beside the lift with a two-way call unit.
